STATEMENT FROM HAROLD E. CAMPBELL REGARDING BANKRUPTCY
When our founding fathers wrote the constitution they wisely gave Congress the power to pass bankruptcy laws for our new country, recognizing that society benefits from allowing its citizens that have fallen on hard times to obtain relief from their debts so that they can become productive members of society once again unburdened by the shackles of debt. Many of our American success stories only achieved fame and wealth after getting a fresh start by filing bankruptcy. Edger Allen Poe (1842), H.J. Heinz (1875), Mark Twain (1894), Walt Disney (1923) and Larry King (1978) all filed for personal or business bankruptcy in their lifetime.
Since the time of the debtors' prisons of the early 19th century, Congress consistently passed bankruptcy laws that increased protection for consumers. Then, in 2005, Congress abandoned Main Street for Wall Street. Bowing to pressure from big business, they made bankruptcy more complicated and confusing hoping to prevent people from filing bankruptcy. They also made changes to the Bankruptcy Code specifically designed to drive out attorneys so people would not know their rights and be unable to protect themselves and their families.
I have been representing my clients in bankruptcy law since 1978. I am a certified bankruptcy specialist by the State Bar of Arizona and am a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys and the American Bankruptcy Institute. I am a recognized member of the Order of Protectors of Consumer Debtors by the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Attorneys. The Staff at Campbell & Coombs is dedicated to giving our clients the highest quality representation.
I give you my commitment that our firm will not be driven out. We will continue to represent our clients and protect their assets and families to the fullest extent allowed by law.
While Congress may have made bankruptcy more difficult, it is not impossible. We can help you through this difficult law to give you the fresh start you and your family or business need. Personal Service In An Impersonal World
PROVIDING SERVICES IN THE AREAS OF BANKRUPTCY, GENERAL BUSINESS, WILLS AND PROBATE, AND TAX PROBLEM RESOLUTION
The staff at Campbell & Coombs P.C. is qualified to help you through your difficult situation, whatever your needs may be. There are 3 attorneys in our office: Harold Campbell, a certified bankruptcy specialist by the State Bar of Arizona, Scott Coombs and Maureen McAuliffe. Make sure you click on the Attorney Profiles button at the left to learn more about our attorneys. By providing personalized service in an impersonal world, we give advice for the best possible solutions on a case by case basis. Unlike some other legal firms, your case will be personally handled by a qualified and experienced attorney, not by a paralegal or secretary. After all, when you have a legal problem you want results from an attorney you know and trust; you don't want to be just another number in a bankruptcy mill where the attorneys do not even know your name.
Campbell & Coombs P.C. offers free initial consultations in consumer bankruptcy matters. Consultations in other areas are offered for a nominal fee. At all consultations, you will meet with an attorney personally. We feel that this is important because each case is different and needs individual attention. We maintain an extensive referral network with other experienced qualified attorneys throughout the state in case your situation demands service in legal areas we do not handle. We not only represent individual consumer debtors in bankruptcy, but also individuals and businesses in Chapter 11 reorganizations. We also represent creditors and other claimants in bankruptcy matters. Additionally, we represents clients against the IRS and State of Arizona in tax collection matters and offers in compromise (programs that allow you to pay off back taxes with a small lump sum payment or payments of a reduced amount over two years). As a logical extension of representation in these areas, Campbell & Coombs P.C. represents clients for general business, wills, probate and incorporation matters.
